Limit Regions & States extension for Magento 2 will permit you to limit or restrict states for your allowed countries for different stores running on your Magento site.
Features
- Limit / restrict states from the admin panel (System > Configuration > General > General > State Options > Allowed States/Regions)
- Disallowed states will not be available in the shipping estimator states dropdown.
- States not allowed by the admin won’t be available in the Shipping or Billing addresses state dropdown.
- The settings can be applied per website in case of a multi-store Magento setup.
- It will not remove any of the states from the system, but rather restricts them.

Overview
Limit Regions & States extension for Magento 2 restricts certain states inside the allowed country, based on the configuration enforced by the site administrator. It gives you complete control over the selection of states inside the selected country for billing and shipping addresses. The selection will be applicable at the time of estimating the shipping quote as well as during the checkout process. Additionally, the restriction can be applied at the store level in case you have a multi-store setup.
For example, some sites do not entail orders from Alaska, Hawaii, or a few other states for shipment, this is when this extension can help you out. Please note: Limit Regions & States extension for Magento 2 will not remove any of the states from the system, rather it just restricts them at the time of estimating shipping quote as well as during the checkout process.
